You Were Made for This

July 24, 20251 min read

I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out my purpose.

What am I supposed to do with my life? What career path is right? What if I choose wrong? What if I’m wasting time?

Questions like these have circled in my head more times than I can count.

This week’s message brought that back into focus.

We opened to Psalm 145, a psalm that overflows with praise. Not out of obligation, but out of awe.

David writes, “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.”

It hit me in a fresh way.

My highest purpose isn’t just about where I work, what I do, or what I achieve.

It’s to glorify God.

That’s what I was made for.

Not to chase applause. Not to hustle for worth. But to live a life that points to how great our God is.

The sermon reminded me that praise isn’t just for Sunday. It’s meant to shape our every day,  through joy and sorrow, in the spotlight or the quiet, when life makes sense and when it doesn’t.

Because even when our circumstances change, God doesn’t. He’s still good. He’s still faithful.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” (Psalm 145:8)

That’s why we praise.
That’s why we sing.
That’s why we tell others about Him... because there’s no one greater.

If you’ve been wrestling with purpose lately... or just need a reset. This sermon is for you.
